The record

Seedcamp, a London-founded seed investor, publishes its own FAQ page, retrieved 16 September 2026, stating that 'our first cheque is usually between $350K-$1.25M' and that Seedcamp is 'comfortable using either a convertible or equity structure' depending on the deal. For rounds it leads, the same page states Seedcamp uses 'documents based on the standard Seedsummit terms' and links its own current template, an Advance Subscription Agreement, published as a PDF on Seedcamp's own site. The FAQ also states that 'for larger rounds which we can't lead, the terms of the round and legals are generally driven by the lead investor,' and describes its post-investment support model, 'Seedcamp Nation,' as an ongoing 'Founder Community' that continues after the initial pitch event.

What the documents establish

Seedcamp's own FAQ establishes that its cheque size is a stated range, not a single number, and that the instrument used — equity or convertible — is chosen deal by deal rather than fixed by policy. The published ASA template is Seedcamp's own document, not a third party's description of Seedcamp's terms, and it applies specifically to rounds Seedcamp leads; the FAQ is explicit that Seedcamp does not set the legal terms of rounds it does not lead. A description of a single 'Seedcamp deal' would therefore need to specify whether Seedcamp led the round, since the governing paperwork differs depending on that fact alone.

The operating read

This is an editorial reading of what the range and the instrument choice mean for a founder in negotiation. Because Seedcamp states a $350K-$1.25M range rather than a fixed cheque, and states that it will use 'either a convertible or equity structure,' a founder should treat any single figure or instrument quoted informally as one outcome within that stated range, not as Seedcamp's standard deal. Seedcamp Nation, separately, is a support commitment rather than a capital commitment: the FAQ describes founder-to-founder introductions, hiring help and recurring events, none of which is contingent on the size or structure of the initial cheque.

What to check before you decide

Before assuming a quoted Seedcamp figure applies to a specific deal, a reader should check the following against Seedcamp's own current materials.

  • Is Seedcamp leading this specific round, or participating in a round led by another investor whose documents will govern?
  • Does the current ASA template on Seedcamp's site match the version referenced in any term sheet received?
  • Has the stated $350K-$1.25M range changed since 16 September 2026?

The range and the published template are Seedcamp's own disclosures; they describe what Seedcamp says it typically does, not a guarantee of what any individual company will be offered.
