The record

Antler's own global FAQ page, retrieved 16 September 2026, describes itself as 'a venture capital firm and company builder' rather than an accelerator, and states it is 'an inception investor, typically the first investor and often committing even before the company is incorporated,' running residencies 'across 26 locations globally.' The same page answers the question of how much Antler invests directly: 'Antler operates through local funds in each market, so investment amounts and terms are set regionally. There is no single global term sheet.' Antler's US location page states an 'initial commitment of $500K-$1M plus $650K in partner credits.' Its UK location page states a different structure: '£210k at inception (£125k for 8.5% equity + £85k convertible note, plus a £40k program fee),' with access to '£330k more in your next round.'

What the documents establish

Antler's own pages establish, in Antler's own words, that there is no single Antler deal. The global FAQ states plainly that terms are set market by market, and the two location pages Antler itself publishes bear that out: the US page discloses a dollar range with no stated equity percentage, while the UK page discloses a specific split between a priced equity component, a convertible note, and a separate programme fee the US page does not mention. A reader who takes one market's headline figure and applies it to another would be stretching a regional disclosure past the boundary Antler draws around it. Antler's apply-page FAQ separately discloses that Antler 'invests in less than 2% of all applicants,' a selectivity figure distinct from either country's cheque size.

The operating read

For a founder comparing Antler to a standard accelerator, the useful distinction is between Antler's company-builder sequence — it can recruit individuals before a company exists, similar in structure to Entrepreneur First — and its own description of itself as a venture capital firm rather than a curriculum-based programme. This is an editorial reading: because each Antler entity operates as a locally raised fund, a term sheet offered in one hub is that local fund's offer, not a global Antler policy. The follow-on vehicle both pages reference, Antler Elevate, is described on the global FAQ as 'a separate vehicle from Antler's pre-seed funds,' so a founder should not assume that later-stage participation follows automatically from an inception cheque.

What to check before you decide

Before comparing an Antler offer to another programme's, a reader should check the following against Antler's own current page for their market.

  • Does your local Antler page quote a percentage-based equity split, a dollar range, or both?
  • Is a separate programme fee, like the UK page's £40k, deducted from the headline investment figure in your market?
  • Does the local page state which instrument — priced equity, a convertible note, or a SAFE — applies to your cheque?

Antler's own current materials for a specific market, not a general description of the fund, are the only reliable source for the terms a given cohort will actually see.
